I have a question around dynamic group.

The requirement is to let the managers report time for the termed employees using the time sheet.

The steps I did for this are as below:

a. Built the dynamic group for the termed employees and refreshed the group.

b. Assigned group security by row sec perm list.

c. Assigned the perm list to the roles of the operator profile.

d. Ran the security refresh process.

e. Set up the Manager Search options based on Group ID among others.

But at the end of it all the mgr does not get to see the employees in the group that is assigned to his row security perm list. But the employees are displayed as soon as the time reporting for the manager is opened. The page says the employees displayed here are your direct reports based on the 'Reports to Position' access type.

I don't see the option to let the mgr select the group to work for reporting time and am just wondering what is the use of the dynamic group you build for a specific purpose.

Would appreciate to get your views on how to overcome this problem.
